This Volant system is made from cross-linked polyethylene that will not transfer heat to the incoming air charge like some of the metal air intake do, resulting in lost power. Cone filter is an oiled, cotton gauze style that can be cleaned and reoiled (cleaning kits sold separately) for long life. Between the fuel savings (if you can keep your foot out of it, it sounds so good when you accelerate hard!) and the savings on replacing the paper style, stock filter, this intake will pay for itself over time.
